It’s lifestyle that impacts the ageing process for each and every one of us. You can be sure that if you have based your health on pharmaceuticals and not paid any attention to diet, exercise, sleep, relationships, or any of the other things that create quality of life — then you can continue to expect more pharmaceuticals and decreased quality of life as you age. And that is true whether you are 25,100, or any age in between.

There is no “us” versus “them” in this conversation—the born lucky and the not born lucky. We are all born with our body’s Innate Intelligence, and it’s never too late to start supporting that intelligence with the proper information, the proper decisions, the proper care—the proper lifestyle.

Strength is a use it or lose it proposition. Strength training allows your muscles to remain strong and healthy as you age. Structure - keeping your spine healthy, strong, and straight, will keep you active and healthy regardless of your age. That’s why so many world-class athletes turn to chiropractic care to help them protect this important part of their body.

Neurology - deals with your nervous system which controls all of your conscious and unconscious body functions including your heart, muscles, digestion, and circulation. Nutrition - what you choose to eat or not eat, either build strength and health — or not.

Endurance equals longevity. You build endurance through activities like walking, running, swimming, bike riding, and any other activity that increases your heart rate and strengthens your cardiovascular system. Remember to enjoy!

If you aren’t actively keeping your mind sharp, of course you won’t age with mental capacities you never fostered. You also can’t expect to age well if you’ve abused your body by masking symptoms with drugs until your body begins to fail you and #organs need to be removed or replaced. If you don’t trust your body’s Innate Intelligence but instead trust, without question, your medical doctor(s) management of your health, you could easily find yourself the victim of polypharmacy.

What is ageing? The commonly used definition of ageing is the process of getting old. João Pedro De Magalhães, a senior lecturer at the University of Liverpool, says that “Ageing is the greatest biomedical challenge of the 21st century. As such, this framework will increase our ability to develop longevity drugs and interventions that target diseases related to the ageing process.” At 100 Year Lifestyle, we don’t see ageing as a disease, and we don’t believe that experiencing disease needs to be part of ageing.

Life isn’t (or shouldn’t be) a series of complicated tasks that take up every waking moment of your day. going through life with a checklist in your hand means that you aren’t allowing for life to happen. You’re following a list and blocking out all the other amazing possibilities that life can offer. Unless your checklist includes space for spontaneous joy, unplanned fun, unanticipated adventures, or chance opportunities to have a meaningful connection with another person, your checklist is probably hurting you instead of helping you. It certainly isn’t contributing to your happiness, health, or longevity.

Together they make sure that every cell in your body (with the exception of the cornea) gets the oxygen-rich blood it needs to function properly. The system is called the Pulmonary Loop. The right side of the heart gets the oxygen-poor blood from the body and moves it to the lungs for cleaning and re-oxygenating. The left side of the heart then pumps the oxygenated blood back through your body—continuously. That means 24/7 for as long as you live.
